(Mos Burger Photo)
Hello Ladies! I hope that you are doing well and enjoying your summer. I would like to share some of my Japan trip photos with you. We had a wonderful time in Sapporo, Japan. It was beautiful and VERY hot!

Below are photos that illustrate Scott and my trip. Enjoy!

This photo on the left is from Karaoke night; it was so fun! I really enjoyed singing in the private rooms, so not as many people could hear my voice!

The food we ate here was really yummy! Chinese, doughy dumplings with meat and sauce inside!

This boat photo is from Nakajama Park; a park a block away from our friend's home. It was a beautiful day, so Scott and I rented a boat and enjoyed the scenery.

Below, is a popular Japanese meal. What is it called ladies? I forgot. But it was DELICIOUS!

We also spend time in Odori Park. This is a picture next to the famous, TV Tower.

Scott and I greatly enjoyed Mister Donuts! I tried my first green tea donut! We went to Mister Donuts everyday!

Also, we went to the hot springs!

Sapporo Maruyama Zoo!
These photos are from the Olympic Ski jump outside Sapporo.

Overall, we greatly enjoyed Japan! Everything is very clean. The food and snacks are tasty. We love rice balls now. Japanese people are very friendly, and the subway is so convenient! We have much more we could say about Japan, but you'll have to ask me in person!

Hope you all are doing well! Please blog and let me know what you have been up to this summer.

My Vest

Hello Ladies,
How are you all doing? How are classes?
I hope you are enjoying your English classes with Mark! I am finishing my teaching as well with my 9th grade students; they get out of school June 17th!
I am excited for the summer. In 3 weeks (June 20th) Scott and I will be going to Sapporo, Japan to visit our friends who have been teaching English there for 2 years. I am really looking forward to this time!
And....as you can see by my picture...I have been knitting! This is a vest I made last week; I didn't use a pattern so I was a little nervous as to how it would turn out, but I think it looks okay :) What do you think of my vest?
Well, I hope you all are doing well. I will be back this summer to teach at WLA. Hope to see you all in class!

Easter

Happy Easter Ladies!
What did you ladies do for Easter? Do you celebrate Easter? How do you celebrate?

For Easter today, Scott and I went to Westminster Chapel for church to celebrate our belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead three days after He was nailed to the cross to die for our sins. We celebrate Christ, because He has restored us from our separation, sadness, and brokenness and given us hope and new life!

This is my favorite song that we sing at Easter time, it is called, "Christ Alone."
It's vocabulary is a little difficult (or a lot difficult) but it is a beautiful song.

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when striving cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scored by the ones He came to save
'Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the ground He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Brought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, not fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Til he returns or call me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

Here is a link below if you would like to hear the song.

Fall Time

Hello Class,
I hope you are all doing well!

For our first Blog Topic of the quarter, I would like to know:

What are your favorite activities to do during the autumn/fall season?

During the fall season, I like to pick pumpkins, especially in the month of October. This October, I went with my husband, Scott, best friend, Molly, and her boyfriend, Seth to a apple and pumpkin farm in Everson, Washington (Everson is just north of Bellingham).

The farm we went to was fantastic! There was a cafe there where you could buy fresh, hot apple cider and fresh apple pie. The farm had a petting zoo with baby goats, miniature horses, bunnies, and pigs.

When you are there you can take a hayride down to the apple and pumpkins fields, which also have a corn maze!

This farm had so many fun things to do!

Scott, Molly, Seth, and I all picked apples, and pumpkins. We are all excited to carve our pumpkins soon for Halloween holiday.

So, in the fall I like to pick pumpkins and eat yummy treats like apple pie, and fresh cider.

What do you ladies like to do in the fall?
