What did you ladies do for Easter? Do you celebrate Easter? How do you celebrate?
For Easter today, Scott and I went to Westminster Chapel for church to celebrate our belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead three days after He was nailed to the cross to die for our sins. We celebrate Christ, because He has restored us from our separation, sadness, and brokenness and given us hope and new life!
This is my favorite song that we sing at Easter time, it is called, "Christ Alone."
It's vocabulary is a little difficult (or a lot difficult) but it is a beautiful song.
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when striving cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scored by the ones He came to save
'Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the ground He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Brought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, not fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Til he returns or call me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

ps. The pictures are of Scott and I painting Easter eggs, which is an American Easter tradition.

Hi,Brittani.
ReplyDeleteOh,how cute!! Happy Easter. I am interested in Easter. Thank you for sharing your pictures. How many days decorate rooms with easter eggs?
Hi Brittani,
ReplyDeleteThat song is very nice!!! And, your painting Easter eggs are very beautiful. How long did you spend the painting?
I’m not sure how to celebrate Easter,so thank you for sharing.I heard that children hunt of eggs in the Easter. Is that really? And why is that? Also, what relation do the eggs and the rabbit have at Easter?
Would you tell me more?
Waka-Usually we paint Easter eggs the whole month that Easter is on (March or April). However, you can paint eggs anytime for fun! All you need to do is boil the eggs, wait for them to cool, and then soak them in different bowls or cups for different colored food dye. Try it; it is fun!
ReplyDeleteTaka-Eggs symbolize during Easter, "new birth" or "new life." Christian believers take this to mean the "new life" they relieve from Jesus Christ when they choose to follow Him.
Now the rabbit, the rabbit is a symbol of fertility (since rabbits are often fertile!) However, the rabbit also symbolizes innocence.
And yes, children hunt for Easter eggs outside or in their homes every Easter. The eggs are usually filled with candy, toys, or even money! This tradition started in Germany in the 1500's. Children believed that a magical bunny would come in the night and hide eggs for them to find the next day. In the 1700s this tradition was brought over to America and as you can tell, still celebrated here today.
great questions!
Thank you for telling me!!
ReplyDeleteThere are many things that I don't understand American culture, but I'm glad that I can hear from you.
